Project Overview

What is the Project?

freeCodeCamp is an open-source free online platform.

What does it do?

Gives free lessons ranging from web development to machine learning and lots of other things code related.

Who uses it?

ANYBODY with an interest in learning those type of technologies, including me.

Non-Code Contributions

What non-code contributions are open?

A couple of documentation, translation, and general layout suggestions are open.

Why are they valuable?

These minimal changes can have a big impact. Translation contributions allow for people with different language backgrounds to expand their knowledge. Documentation changes can help streamline the process of learning. That is just the tip of the iceburg.

Contributing Guidelines

Where are the guidlines found

Is onboarding process beginner friendly?

Yes and no. If you know what open-source/github is the process is straightforward. If you don't you might have some trouble.

Anything that surprised or confused you.

The fact that there is a website dedicated to contributing surprised me.

What do you plan to do for your contribution?

I plan to fix some documentation, although minimal, it's a good first step

What support/resources do you need?

Look deeper into the contributing website and create a plan as to where to begin.

When will I start?

I intend to start as soon as my schedule allows me to.
